One of the historic landmarks in the picturesque village of Kitkalta is a longhouse which time and weather had been less than kind to. The Gitxa'ala First Nations Band recognized this building, it's architecture and artwork, as an important part of the History of their community and people. This recognition resulted in a proposal to renovate and restore the building that was submitted to the Softwood Industry Community Economic Adjustment Initiative. |

The building required fairly extensive renovations to restore it to it's glory and meet the goal of becoming an Arts and Culture Centre where local Artists could display their work. |
